In dioramas housed within cardboard boxes and displayed in dimly lit spaces with independent interior lighting systems, the body, though physically absent, is affirmed through a series of miniature objects that collectively evoke diverse narratives. The external environment, dictating the discourse, guides one through a passage (in which we cannot physically sojourn), where external reality converges with internal reality—the realm where this miniature world resides. In this context, the box serves as a matrix embodying the poetics of the object’s “ontological shadow,” a manifestation born from the recollection of a past or future event, whose image emerges during the construction process. Disposal, preservation, and placement of these miniatures, unbound by conventional spatial and temporal constraints, demand meticulous observation and reconsideration of the object therein, stripped of its original function. Consequently, these encapsulated works, nestled within their boxes yet simultaneously exposed, remain uninhabitable. Small intimacies, waiting for their body.
